On May 7, H.E. Mr. Thurain Thant Zin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Japan, together with Ms. Khaimar Wint Zin Thant, Second Secretary, visited MIF and had a very constructive meeting with Prof. Toshiaki HASHIMOTO, MIF’s Chairperson, and Prof. Keiichi KATAYAMA, Executive Director. MIF has ever invited 15 fellows from Myanmar since 1985. During this academic year, MIF will host 3 Burmese female researchers/scholars. In addition, most of the enquiries MIF receives recently are from Myanmar. This tendency seems to continue more. Under such circumstances, both Ambassador Thurain Thant Zin and Prof. Hashimoto agreed to further strengthen the relationship between the embassy and MIF.
