On October 3, 2019, Prof. Hashimoto, Chairperson, and Mr. Watanabe, Secretary General, received Dr. Peter Johann WALDE, a 1985 Swiss Fellow and a Professor of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich). Dr. Sosaku ICHIKAWA, a member of Board of Trustee Selection Committee and a Professor of University of Tsukuba, who once conducted a research project under Prof. WALDE also joined the meeting. Prof. WALDE is concurrently a Professor of University of Tsukuba and he is now visiting Japan for the purpose of giving lectures at the University and other research institutions. Prof. Hashimoto commented that MIF always welcomes Fellows re-visiting Japan and Dr. WALDE replied and thanked that by knowing Japan through the MIF Fellowship program, a new chapter was added in his life.
